The wife of Perak’s assistant legal advisor Teoh Chin Chong was found dead with an impalement wound on her body at a lake here in Bandar Seri Botani here on Wednesday morning.
The 57-year-old victim was believed to have been jogging around the lake at about 9am in the morning when she slipped and fell into the lake while trying to release a tortoise she found.
It is discovered that the victim had fallen head first into the water and was impaled by a piece of sharp mangrove wood in the lake.
“An auxiliary police personnel on patrolling duties saw the incident and informed the police right away,” said a police source.
A medical team confirmed that the victim died at the scene.
The body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for post-mortem and cause of death was identified as a chest injury due to stab wounds.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong confirmed the incident.
